Fall Product Sale

Candy Sale 2018.JPG

Now that the school year is getting back into session and Scout units are gearing up for another great year of Scouting please support our Scouts by purchasing meat sticks or candy bars. Better yet, consider placing a box of candy bars at the reception desk of your employer or business with a note to drop $1 into the jar for each candy bar taken.

Camp Baker Improvements Project

Thank you to Roseburg Forest Products and the Murphy Company

This past month both Roseburg Forest Products and the Murphy Company made donations of 4 units of ½” CDX plywood to Camp Baker each. This plywood will be used in the construction of new Adirondacks and the new Health Lodge. You too can help with a donation to the Camp Baker renovation fund so that we can reach our goal of $500,000. For more information or questions about how you might support this effort contact Tony Reyneke at 541-284-4394 or

Gift Planning

In September we will be launching our monthly e-newsletter on Planned Giving with a focus on making donations directly from an IRA for those who have reached 70 1/2. For those with traditional IRA’s this is a great tax saver as donations made from the IRA count towards your RMD while not being treated as income for tax purposes; that means you are using pre-tax dollars to make your donations! And, this is especially beneficial to those who no longer benefit from charitable donations due to the IRS changes in itemized deductions.
