District Award Nominations

There is no nicer way to say, “Thank you for your service to Scouting” then through the recognition afforded by an award from the community.  Each year, we recognize the amazing service of our Scouts and Scouters at many levels.  Please consider taking a moment to nominate a deserving member of your unit, or a fellow Scout or Scouter for one of the following awards:

Scout or Scouter of the Year:

At the district level we recognize the top youth and adult from each program; i.e. Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, etc. with a Scout or Scouter of the Year award.

The District Award of Merit:

This Council level award is the highest honor presented at the district level.

The District Award of Merit is awarded by a District to volunteer adults for service to youth in the District. Normally, the award is presented for service to youth in excess of five years. Candidates for this award must be nominated. Self-nomination disqualifies the candidate.

The Silver Beaver:

The Silver Beaver Award is the council-level distinguished service award of the Boy Scouts of America. Recipients of this award are registered adult leaders who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council. The Silver Beaver is an award given to those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self-sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service.

This year there are two choices for Camporee tracks.

  • A Scout Skills Course (designed to test skill knowledge through 1st Class) and
  • a Challenge Course (designed to test senior Scouts at an advanced level).
  • We have also moved Camporee this year to Baker Bay.
  • We are also planning an interactive Adult Program, so something for everyone.
