Conclave is a very fun event where all the Lodges in our section (w1s) get together.  Conclave ranges from Classes in the morning to Fun, to More Fun, and then to fun in the afternoons.

Webelos-Ree Date / Time: Sep. 19 - 21 
Location: Camp Baker, Florence, OR
Cost: $45 per Scout - $35 per Adult

WEBELOS-REE, will offer Webelos opportunities to participate in activities designed specifically for them in a Boy Scout Camp environment. The WEBELOS-REE is organized as a 2 night campout, with activities planned the entire weekend being geared toward helping the boys attain the Webelos Badge and Arrow of Light, as well as inspiring them to continue in Scouting. Boy Scouts and Scout leaders will handle the activities and skills. They will have a chance to complete several Webelos Pins, begin others and participate in activities, which should inspire them to begin working on other advancements when returning home. They will also be given a chance to participate in ceremonies, camp-wide games, evening campfire, cooking and see some of what they can look forward to as Boy Scouts.

Don’t put away your camping gear just yet! Come to Fun with Son this fall. The Fun with Son weekend will give your Cub Scouts adventure in the wilds of Camp Baker! You will be able to experience camping, fishing (bring your gear), shooting bb guns, archery, knots, cooking, contests, campfires and games.

Intro to Outdoor
Leader Skills (IOLS)
Date / Time: Oct. 4-5
Location: Camp Murnane

Working as patrols, this hands-on course provides adult leaders the practical outdoor skills they need to lead Scouts in the out-of-doors. Upon completion, leaders should feel comfortable teaching Scouts the basic skills required to obtain the First Class rank. This course is required of all direct contact leaders registered in Boy Scout Troops and Varsity Scout Teams, in order to wear the Trained patch.

Cub Scout Leader
Position Specific Training

This course will give new leaders the knowledge and skills needed to be successful. Part one is an introduction to Scouting and the Cub Scout pack, while part two is a module on how Cub Scouts have fun in the pack and the den. The third part is focused on specific training for Cubmasters, den leaders, pack committee members, and pack trainers.

for Troops (ILST)
Date / Time: Oct. 11 (8a-4p)
Location: OTC Service Center, Eugene OR
Cost: Free

 

The purpose of the ILST course is to teach Scouts with leadership positions about their new roles and how to most effectively reach success in that role. It is intended to help Boy Scouts in leadership positions within their troop understand their responsibilities and to equip them with organizational and leadership skills to fulfill those responsibilities. ILST is the first course in the series of leadership training offered to Boy Scouts and is a replacement for Troop Leadership Training. Completion of ILST is a prerequisite for Boy Scouts to participate in the more advanced leadership courses National Youth Leadership Training (NYLT) and the National Advanced Youth Leadership Experience (NAYLE). It is also required to participate in a Kodiak Challenge Trek.

Life to Eagle
Seminar

The Life to Eagle Seminar is designed to inform parents, leaders, and scouts how to successfully complete all Eagle Rank requirements with a minimum of errors. All boys who have been awarded the Life Rank, or are 16 years of age, are encouraged to attend.
