From Council Bluffs’ sweeping vistas
to the craggy heights of “trust me,”
From the purple hues of the Three Sisters mountains
and from Mt. Scott’s sentinel presence
to the shimmering blues of Lake Melakwa,
the invitation is borne on the whispering wind
”Come to Melakwa, Come to Melakwa.”

Here Boy Scouts are climbing, swimming,
shooting, rafting, cooking, and tasting
of this heritage left to them by Eternal God
and provided to them by an army
of Scouting volunteers that care.
”Come to Melakwa.”

Of all of Scouting’s youth, these present today
count themselves most blessed.
So, Lord, we give you our thanks for making us
a part of this wilderness experience,
one unique among camping opportunities.
And the Winds continue to whisper
”Come to Melakwa.
